#21: Jonathan Schmock as the Maître d’
Jonathan Schmock played the snooty maître d’ at the upscale restaurant Chez Quis, where Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron bluff their way into lunch. With his arched eyebrows, silky voice, and escalating exasperation, he perfectly embodied the snobbish gatekeeper type, making their victory over him one of the film’s funniest scenes.

In 1986, Schmock was a young actor and comedian building a career in character roles. He had worked steadily on television and in sketch comedy, but Ferris Bueller’s Day Off gave him a memorably flashy bit part that made him instantly recognizable to audiences.
