Lisa Kudrow played Ursula Buffay, the hilariously spacey waitress at Riff’s café who never quite seemed aware of what was going on around her. Her dry, deadpan delivery made Ursula a breakout character — so much so that she later appeared as Phoebe’s twin sister on Friends, connecting the two sitcom worlds.

Before Mad About You, Kudrow had been working her way through the L.A. comedy scene and landed a few small roles. Ursula became her first major TV success, giving audiences an early glimpse of her quirky, lovable style.
