#5: Steak and Ale (1966-2008, 2024)
Steak and Ale was big in the ‘70s and ‘80s, being the Texas Roadhouse of our generation. If you wanted a good steak, some fresh ale, and even free dessert and beverages, this was the place to go. It was where you could eat fancy without bringing your suit and tie.
Unfortunately, other steakhouses beat them out of the game, and they closed all remaining locations in 2008. But now they’re back! In 2024, they opened a location in Burnsville, Minnesota, and more locations are planned in the future.
