#35: Bressler’s 33 Flavors (1920s–1980s)
Before Baskin-Robbins became famous for its “31 Flavors,” there was Bressler’s 33 Flavors. Founded in the 1920s, this ice cream parlor chain was among the first to offer various unique flavors beyond the standard vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

It gained popularity across the U.S. during the mid-20th century and was often found in shopping centers and malls. However, by the 1980s, Bressler’s was losing ground to more modern competitors, and most locations were either shuttered or absorbed into other brands. Though largely forgotten today, it once played a big role in expanding America’s dessert palate.
