Missed Opportunities in Iconic Roles
When Sean Connery exited as James Bond, Clint Eastwood was next up for 007 in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969). Declining, he felt a Brit should play Bond, overlooking Connery’s Scottish roots and the diverse nationalities of subsequent Bonds.

Eastwood didn’t only skip on Bond; he also turned down Superman, feeling it wasn’t the right fit for him. Furthermore, he was set to portray Two-Face in the 1960s Batman TV show, which was canceled before his appearance.
