#52: Wearing Mascara That Clumps
Mascara is meant to open the eyes, but clumpy lashes can do the opposite. Thick, spidery layers may make lashes look heavy and brittle, especially if the formula is old or too dry. Instead of brightening the eyes, clumps can draw attention to texture and tiredness.

Replace mascara regularly and wipe extra product off the wand before applying. Use thin coats, focusing on the roots of the lashes, and comb through if needed. Brown-black or soft black can look more natural than very harsh formulas. Clean, separated lashes make the eyes look brighter.
