#25: Using Black Eyeliner All Around The Eyes
A full ring of black eyeliner can feel like strong definition, especially if it was once your go-to evening look. But as the eye area changes, harsh liner can close the eyes in, emphasize darkness, and make the overall expression look heavier than intended.

For a softer effect, concentrate definition on the upper lash line. Swap jet black for espresso, charcoal, navy, or deep plum, depending on your coloring. Blend the line slightly so it looks diffused rather than sharp. This keeps the eyes defined without making them look smaller.
