#1: Wearing Foundation That Is Too Heavy Or Matte
It’s easy to reach for fuller coverage when skin tone feels uneven, but heavy matte foundation can settle into lines, cling to dry patches, and flatten the face. Instead of creating a smooth finish, it can make skin look stiff, tired, and more textured than it really is.

A better approach is to use a lighter, hydrating base and add coverage only where it’s needed. Try a skin tint, serum foundation, or moisturizing foundation with a natural finish. Blend well, use less powder, and let a little real skin show through for a fresher effect.
