#16: Selma Blair Admits Her First Experience With Alcohol Happened at Age Seven
In her memoir Mean Baby, Selma Blair revealed that her struggle with alcohol addiction began shockingly early. She wrote that the first time she got “very drunk” was at a Passover celebration when she was just seven years old, long before she understood what drinking really meant.

Blair explained that alcohol immediately gave her something she craved—feeling. She didn’t know what kind of drama it would bring, but she knew it would be intense and absorbing. Looking back, she recognized it as her earliest escape, something she needed and looked forward to, years before addiction had a name.
